To be honest I can answer all your questions but I will advice you to enroll in a computer training school, start off with the basics which is desktop publishing. You will be trained on how todo all this basic stuff create folders,rename what note pad is etc this will really enrich your knowledge on computing.

1. Save it with the .html extension and then when you open it, it should open with your default browser. Its mentioned in that lesson, you may need to read the whole lesson again.

2. When you open the notepad, just start typing in the blank space. To copy, click and drag your mouse to select what you want to copy and then use Ctrl and C to copy it or right click and select copy.

In addition, you should SERIOUSLY consider what Seye has advised if you find all of this too confusing. Or take your time to follow the links in Lesson 1 or 2 that talk about computer and internet basics. Or get someone who knows a bit on computer usage to help you out with these basics. It will save you a lot of headache as you go along and will help to improve your understanding of the topics being mentioned.
Leave it for God, don't worry yourself. Leave it for God, don't cry no more.

For more help Emmanuel, Google has answers to unimaginable things. Since you know how to use the internet, make google your friend. For computer training, if you dont have money to go for one now, try learning online by yourself.

You can download manual on any topic free, for example, google 'computer application manual' bam it's there in front of you. Read and practicalise it.

If you cant type well or fast, just visit any nearby cd store and get Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing, install it in your system and get to work, when you're done with her training believe me, you will thank her for it. It cost less than N500 for pirated one.

There are so many ways to kill a cat.

All the same, dont be discouraged in asking for help here anytime. We are always here to help.

  Emmanuel,

  The Gurus of the forum have spoken. Get registered in a Computer School as soon as you can afford it. As a newbie like you, I was once overwhelmed by the same problem you are now facing. Consequently, I registered in a Computer School to enable me have better understanding of my MOB lessons.

I'm done with the website design phase and 'am currently taking the website programming lessons. Applying what I learned to my MOB lessons, I get a profound understanding of the parts of the course that I had once thought I would never understand.

As a newbie like you, I understand your plight...you may not even have enough resourses to enable you register in a Computer School for now but if you have a friend who is proficient in the use of computer, he could possibly guide you.

To solve your problem at the moment, Enter the html structure in your Notepad (or Notepad ++ ) as shown below:

<!DOCTYPE>
<html>
<Head>
         <Title>Put your desired title here</Title>
</Head>
<Body>
          <h2>This is my first website design practice</h2>
<p>I had once thought that html code is a language that only computer gurus can apply...but now I am disillusioned.</p>
</Body>
</html>

Then click on File
Next, click on Save As
Next, type any name in the space provided for File Name at the bottom of the Save As dialogue box and end the name with .html (example profitablemoves.html).
Next, still at the bottom of the Save As dialogue box, in the space provided for Save as type, if Hyper Text Markup Language file,*html,*htm is shown by default, don't click anything else but if not, click on All types or All Files
Click on Save at the bottom-right of the Save As dialogue box.

The above job would them be saved by default in My Document.
Next open My Document and right-click on the name you saved your job with.
Click on Open With.
Click on Google Chrome or Firefox to view how your practice website would look like.
Click on Notepad to view your html code.

As you progress, you'll learn to save your job on your computer's Desktop for ease of reference.

Note, however, that the knowledge of html code is a great tool for a web designer but you may not necessarily design your functional website with it. When you progress in your study of the MOB course, you may eventually prefer to design with Wordpress.

Please, do have a great time on the forum.
Change is inevitable! As we journey through life we must expect challenges.
