Generally, the process for switching from one hosting company to another can be done in two stages

The first stage is to buy a new hosting account from hostgator and make a request to them to help you move your account from whogohost.com at which point you will need to give them your whogohost cpanel details and they will do the rest. I assume you already know how to buy the host from hostgator. Follow the process given in the ebooks. While registering the host, select the option that says that you already have your own domain (not register a new domain). So in the domain field you will fill your current domain name.

The Second Stage is to change the name servers of your domain name from the one for whogohost to the nameservers that will be given to you by your new host, hostgator. The process of Changing the nameservers is a little bit different from host to host but all you really need to do is log in to your domain panel and look for the relevant link. You did not mention how you registered your domain name but if it was whogohost that registered your domain then you may be able to get the nameservers changed by making a request to their support department.

The changes are usually almost instant but in certain cases there could be delays of a few hours and in extreme cases it might take up to 72 hours for the changes to be reflected so don't post anything for 72 hours after you change your nameservers. After that you can continue.
Leave it for God, don't worry yourself. Leave it for God, don't cry no more.

Thanks Mr Tony, because am also planning to move hosting from Web4africa to Hostgator and i will also follow one of the step stated above.

But my question is that i renew my hosting plan last month and if i host another account with hostgator, which i will like to transfer all my client to their server. What will happen to my remaining month at my former hosting company? Or are should wait till the former hosting expired?

@ La.Nicholas -  Your remaining month at your former hosting company will be forfeited since there was no agreement that there would be refund if you quit midway.  I advise that you should wait till the former hosting expires in order not to loose your deposit with the former hosting company.
