Since the Mastercard you purchased is for online usage why then do you require another online payment service option which will prevent you from revealing your credit card number on every website. I think that what you will be concerned about is to make sure that any website you would like to make use of your credit card on MUST be a secure website and at the same time avoid using your credit card on any public computer.

Hardy like winnet said you should be concerned about the security of the site you are using your card on,always check from your web browser when the payment form format pops up if it starts with https ,if it starts with it ,it then shows the site is secured.

Yes check for the https because it means that the site itself is secure but a secure site doesnt always guarantee that the owners of the site are honest. Some dishonest people do use secure online payment systems to sell fake or non-existent products. So you should also be sure of the reputation of the owners of the website, in addition to checking the https.

Again you need a good antivirus because some viruses can steal your card details when you enter them into a website even if its a secure website owned by a trusted company. Avast free antivirus is a very good one.

But if you are in doubt of the trustworthiness of a website you can ask here in the forum to see if anybody has used them before.

yomi,  i registered with payza but their verification method is just not working for me. whether it is with the bank account or credit card, they are not as simple as they sound.
how did you go about yours? or were you lucky to have registered when they were allowing verification by phone number?

This is a very educative topic to  which I believe everyone of us should pay attention. Kindly let Yomi and all others who have used (a) Liberty Reserve, (b) AlertPay or Payza, (c) any  other alternative payment system which are available to Nigerians tell us how they work and what advantages/disadv they may have over Mastercard/Visa Card. I mean we dont  all have to be telling lies or using cunning methods in subjecting ourselves to use Paypal if we  want true and enduring success. Thanks

Really Yomiprof all the current methods for getting a Paypal account from Nigeria involves one "cunning" method or the other which is not guaranteed to last. Perhaps the only way out is to use an account of someone in a non-african paypal friendly country.

If you need to pay for something with paypal you may also consider using fastecash pay4me service but I don't know if that one is still active so you may need to call them first to find out. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I know some other companies offering a similar service where you can pay them in naira and they make the purchase for you in dollars but I cant give you any reliable names unfortunately :(

Adeseye what country are you?

A caveat for using an account opened by someone abroad: I read somewhere that the IP address used to access the account also matters so if after creation you access it too much with a Nigerian IP, there might be a danger there too.

@ Hardy Follow what winnet and admin said that the best advice and good choice.
