Website Verification With Google
« on: Apr 22, 2015 »

I came across an article on how to increase traffic to website. It explaines that the first thing to do is to submit the site to google at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and bing at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

When I do, the procedures were difficult for me as i tried to upload the codes they both gave me.
But then, is it important that i submit my site to them?
Can Google (XML) Sitemap do the same job for me?
Thanks, one love!

Hello @Edgarex,

understand that to verify your site using google webmaster tools it means that you are the rightful owner of the site and as such you have access to the html code area of your site where you can place the html tag of any of the methods available in google webmaster tool area. By placing a formatted xml file on your site, you enable Search Engine crawlers (like Google, bing, yahoo etc) to find out what pages are present and which have recently changed, and to crawl your site accordingly, and eventually help in the ranking of your site. But don't forget that it does not necessary mean flooding your site with traffic, because your site content will be compared with other similar sites before determining your site ranking. More so, there is more to boosting your site traffic if you really want to up your game in that area. I personally experienced same challenge for quite a period of time before I finally figure out how to use webmaster tool correctly. However, XML sitemap can do this for you with 4 simple steps. Go to this link:  You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login  Read and follow the instructions carefully, and am sure you will smile when you are done implementing the task. I am sure this will help. Good luck!

If you use wordpress to design your site, most of these can be done easily by installing plugins. Whether you want to submit your site to Google for indexing. But, if you're using blogspot, you can try occidental boy's method.

But before then, make sure you have wriiten and updated your blog with 4 to 5 pages of content.

Goodluck,
Jide

Thanks  Olajideadetutu. If i will understand you well, you mean it doesn't matter whether i verify my site or not? Will traffic come just like that?

Though, I am currently doing guest blogging to drive traffic but it seems my effort is futile.

Will it take some time before i see progress?

Thanks.

Verification does not affect your traffic, inshort I will rather advise you not to.

Google webmasters will take a close look at your site and if it is not up to standard, (their guide line e.g too much affiliate links and all that) it will never rank high no matter how hard you work. You can search google for webmasters guideline.

If you feel you really want to do the right thing then submit your site for verification and if your site is not penalized in anyway you probably have a higher chance for ranking high.

Guest blogging will actually increase both your traffic and site rank but it depends also on the blogs where you post and their own rank too.

Hello Friend, let me add to what they've all said, driving traffic to your site is a gradual process, patience and consistency. it will not come automatically but with time your traffic will grow if you have Purpose Driven Content (PDC).

If your content is rich, search engine will crawl your site, but if its not reach, the chances are slim. Also make sure you have Google plus widget on your blog, because I discovered that it helps in your seo ranking.

Richman the process of gaining traffic can be a very slow one especially if you don't have lots of cash to spend on paid adverts. See this article for some traffic getting tips: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

Thanks everyone. I have been following most of the process of traffic driving for my two sites and these are the results.
1. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login (i have 19 visitors within 3weeks)
2. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login (i have 35 visitors in 2 four weeks)

Is this progress encouraging?
