building a portal from wordpress

I need to know how I can convert a wordpress site into a portal, e.g a school portal where people can register by filling series of forms and then sibmitting the forms at the end to print an acknowledgement form at the end. Or even an online job application form with the same features as above.
Thanks in anticipation of your response

When you say register, do you mean register and become members on the website?

The easiest solution is to have the filled form details sent to an email address. You can easily do that with a plugin like Fast Secure Contact Form (You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login). For the printout, there's a setting on the advanced tab it says "enable to add a "view / print message" button after message sent. Note: this feature requires the redirect setting to also be set to disabled.

One drawback is that the plugin seems to have lots of options although the default settings work fine. The installation guide can be found at You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

I don't mean to register as a member.
I mean either an online job application form where people can fill in their bio data, e.g name, state of origin, title, phone number, address etc, upload documents and pictures, fill employment history etc.
Or a school website where you can register your details and get a printout for further use

Okay then, it all boils down to filling/submitting forms. This plugin should do it for you.

Thanks for your quick response. Please, which plugin are you referring to ? Is it still the fast secure contact form? If yes then I need more clarificationon how to use the plugin because to me it looks like just a means for visitors to forward their complaints to admin. If no, please specify the plugin
Please, help out once more.
Thanks

Yes its the same fast secure contact form (also known as FS contact form)

You can configure the form to have any fields that you want people to fill. Not just the default ones, you can add any new fields like what you have in a job application form or what have you. The form is highly configurable. See this link for a tutorial I found: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login    (See numbers 7 and 8 in the article for adding new fields to the form)

I have studied the form and I can now customize it to add different areas as I want.
My problem is that I want to have a clickable link that will link to the form instead of just having the full form displayed on my site.e.g, in latestnigerianjobs.com and ng44.com, you have to click on the contact us menu item to display the form.
 So,
1. how can I do that.
2. Also, in a.post, I want to have a place that says: click here to apply and when it is clicked, a form is displayed.
3. Again, where  in the backend do I see the information supplied by my visitors when they fill and submit the forms
Thanks

1. You need to create a normal post or page and then embed the form using a shortcode. See number three in the installation steps here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

2. When you have done step one, you will now have a link for your form which you can add to your post just like how you would addo a normal link in a wordpress post

3. I think the form sends the information to an email address that you specify in the settings.

You can also watch the installation video below:
