@Lateef Nicholas: Very sorry to hear about this. This is one reason why it is always very advisable to always have a backup of your most important files somewhere just in case of incidents like this. We pray it doesnt happen again in the future. Sorry o.

Dear Mr. Lateef,

Sorry for the crash hard disk.  We, ourselves, will not crash in Jesus name.

Our mentor, Mr. Tony Areghan, has said it all that we should always have a back up no matter what it will cost us because the lost of vital information cannot be quantified.

Having said all these, I am convinced that a very good computer engineer will retrieve your information for you but read my piece of advice below:

1.  If the Master Boot Record or Partitioning of the Hard Disk is Bad, it will corrupt the whole hard disk and the system will not locate the hard disk as you described.

Solution is to reformat the hard disk and use a special software to recover your lost information/data.

2.  If the hard disk damage is as a result of mechanical fault, solution is to find or buy the exact type of the hard disk.  First change the board of the hard disk and test it if it will work.
If it fails to work, open the old and new hard disk and change everything in the old one to the new one.  Then try it, it will work.

All these are better done by a qualified computer engineer who knows what he is doing.

My reservation on the whole thing is that if it is a BRANDED SYSTEM, all the above will be difficult but not impossible for a qualified Engr.

A computer engineer friend in Ibadan is capable of retrieving your information but the problem is how to get the Hard Disk down to Ibadan.

Best regards,

Aare MacFally
