Hello Boss Tony, you directed me to ask my question here so others can benefit from your answer. So once again, here is my question: I just installed the SMF forum platform on this my domain here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login. When you look at the extreme top right hand of the forum, you would see some write up there: "Simplemachines forum" and "SMF - just installed".

How can I remove those write up and replace them with my own write up?

My second question goes like this: Take a look at the main site here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, how can I remove the attribution link "Powered by wordpress" at the footer area of the website?

My third question: I want to create a platform on the site (the main site above) where members can register and have their pages on the site; how can I go about it?

I'm waiting for your timely reply sir. Thank you.

Is anybody here to answer my questions. I've been able to get an answer to the last question but I still need answers for questions 1 and 2 from everyone here. Even though I mentioned Tony's name in the question does not mean you should not answer the question if you have the answer.

Please forum members, am waiting ooooooooooooo

It is very easy to remove but  it can complicate issues if you don't know how to do it.
From your Dashboard go to Appearance to editor. This is where all the codes are just try and locate the footer code, then from there you can edit it.

Please if you don't know much about code, don't attempt to do it.

Hi Alexis I really wish you had asked these questions as three separate topics. Please try to do that next time if the questions are not directly related to each other and use longer descriptive titles that are more indicative of the question you are asking. Also I will appreciate if, in your reply you can please explain how you solved your number 3 question. Thank you.

Now to the answers:

The text is being generated by the news settings. You can replace that text with another or with a set of others that shows randomly each time the page is refreshed.

To change this text:

1. Click on Admin.
2. Hover over Main > Hover over News and Newsletters > Click on News
3. You will see the news page (which should be self explanatory to use).
4. You can modify or delete the text. Just change it to what you want and click Save.
5. To add more news items click on Click here to add another item.
6. When you have two or more items, one item is selected randomly and shown each time you refresh your site.
7. To delete, Select the checkbox to the right of the news item and then click on Delete

My second question goes like this: Take a look at the main site here: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login, how can I remove the attribution link "Powered by wordpress" at the footer area of the website?
Not all themes allow you to modify the contents of the footer because the theme creators want their link to be there too. In some of such themes what they do is to make it in such a way that if you tamper with the footer area, the theme will stop working. For a theme that has such a restriction, La. Nicholas technique may not work. This your theme appears to be one of such.

Another nice and very effective way of removing the Powered by Wordpress or Proudly Powered by Wordpress is to use CSS to hide the div within which the credits are shown.

To do this, you need to know the id of the div within which the attribution is shown. I helped you check the ID of the div in your theme and here is what you should do to hide the powered by.

1. Login to your dashboard and go to Appearance then Editor
2. Doing this will open up the base CSS file for the theme.
3. Scroll to the very bottom of the file and add the following code after the last line:

#credits {
    display: none;
}

4. Click update file and view your website after refreshing
5. If you have installed a caching plugin you may need to delete your cache if the links are still showing

For other themes:
First you need to get the correct div id. To get this,
1. View the site source and search for the words powered by
2. When you find the words, check the code just before it and you will see something like <div id="footer2">
3. Depending on the theme, footer2 could be any word, but whatever is there, that is the div id you are looking for
4. When you have the div id, follow the steps in the first example above but in your code replace credits as used above with your div id
5. So in this example, the code we will use is:

#footer2 {
    display: none;
}

Leave it for God, don't worry yourself. Leave it for God, don't cry no more.
